Gradius Gaiden Loop 1 Stage 7 played on "Hardest" difficulty with myself controlling both ships simultaneously.

This video is also microphone-enabled.

You know what irks me? I like to come up with ideas for dancing around in the beginning, usually in-time to the music. My plan for this stage was to fly around gracefully during the intro, shooting in-time to the music for as long as I can, and conclude by getting shields for both ships at the same time (and maybe reproduce that bug I saw on stage 4). Too bad the intro to this particular run was anything but graceful :P.

Relatedly, sometimes I'll have runs with many nail-biting moments, but they'll all end in death while the run that passes is uneventful by comparison :P.

  • this gameplay is just INSANE!! how could u do that!!! i'd probably die first from an epilepsy attack

  • Hehe, thanks. ^^

I'd say my tools for success were:

    1. lots of experience

    2. determination

    3. a decent gamepad

I think that most people can learn to play like this if they are determined to do so. In the end, after you achieve your goal, the feeling of accomplishment is a great reward :).

  • lol the missile went back :))

  • @gs68 Only on the older models, the newer ones, it runs normally.

  • Awesome job at conrolling both ships at once, I'm impressed! :D

  • Also, because on the PS2, this stage slows down like a mofo.

  • But then again you might as well play it on a PS1 (not hard to do with a cheat device and a toothpick, assuming you somehow happen to have a PS1 on you), since the PSP's D-pad is a pile of shit and its analog is very tricky to use.

  • It was ported to the PSP. It's on the PSX in Japan only.

  • I take it there's a black hole consuming the level? I haven't gotten that far in Gaiden. I should really try, though.

  • die die!...yes!!! lol

  • This looks like one of the best Gradius games ever, and they only released it on the Portable Playstation?! Idiots.

  • Great work. Must of taken you a lot of tries to get it right =P. I'm getting this game sooner or later.
