@idricool, no! Circumcision does NOT protect from STDs, at least not in developed nations.
Researchers N. Dickson et al. published their investigation of STDs/circumcision in J. of Pediatrics, March 2008 (see online!)
They found NO circumcision benefit for either bacterial or viral STDs! The study concludes:
"Our findings agree with other similar recent medical studies from developed countries... it appears unlikely that circumcision has a protective effect against common STDs".

Clueless morons.
Circumcision is actually good, reduces STD transmission.
Don't be a pussy and get circumcised.
This is Science, it's not mutilation, it's called surgery.

My Christian fundamentalist parents had my penis mutilated when I was a baby. I've heard that there are non-surgical techniques to restore the foreskin. I've read a bit about it but I'd like to hear from somebody who actually did it.

Thank you for your clarity, Christopher.

@jamiebellwolf Adults get circumcised everyday. There are various methods of circumcision of infants, children, adolescents and adults. The majority of the world's circumcised population were not circumcised as infants.
I am not circumcised.

@endofscene How can an adult be circumcised? How do you know what it feels like to have those senstive nerve ending you feel you have lost
-
@jamiebellwolf It is never too late to be circumcised. If you don't know that then you don't know anything. (And based on your comments thus far it would seem that you don't know much at all.) A person can be circumcised at any age, and in many ways it is better to be circumcised as an adult than as a child or infant, if indeed one is going to be circumcised at all.
-
@jamiebellwolf There is no way to ensure that it is always is done correctly. This is the case with every surgery: things can always go wrong. With regards to neonatal circumcision, it is considered such a trivial procedure that it is often given to Hospital Residents (medical trainees) to do, sometimes as their first operation, sometimes without proper knowledge. If you are against botched circumcisions then you should be petitioning against such flippant disregard.

@endofscene well we need it done correctly. how can it be done when the person becomes 18 then its too late
This man is a goddamned hero.

@jamiebellwolf The foreskin is a part of the genitals. If you don't know that then you don't know anything. The foreskin is not "extra skin", it's standard anatomy.
