Once again, a piss-poor job of recording a race means I won't be able to upload a recap of it... because it would be half-assed. YouTube user rowdyeverylap has it in full on his channel, however, so check it out over there. It was a great race!
Here's an onboard from that race, first from Phil Parsons' helmet cam (he was subbing for Harry Gant, whose father had recently passed away), and from Michael Waltrip's onboard cam. He was making a comeback after his infamous wreck the day before.
Why they don't use cameras like this today I don't know. All the cameras today are placed in retarded locations where you can either see only the driver or the track and not both. Oh and if you're dumb ol' ESPN of today, you'll go for a split screen route to achieve that instead of use one of these cameras.
