2 stroke/cycle engine running with no rings because the old ones snnaped! Runs like new if warmed up due to material expansion making the piston seal better(dosen't run very well a very low rpms)

  • that will wear out the cylinder and piston very quickly

  • im gonna run it for a few hours today and take it apart it again and see if there is any signs of wear! i dont think it will wear the cylinder as fast because there is less friction against it!

  • I used a rubberband for a piston ring for a homelite blower and it worked. needs adjustments though, lol

  • the onlything the ring does is make a tight seal so it has compression if you take it out and it still has enough.. you can let it out cuz it will have less friction. just like these little nitro engines

  • @06mourag There is probably more friction against it because more of the piston must rub against it. The rings aren't there to keep the piston straight in the cylinder so it's going to sit at the wrong angle and beat up the edges of the piston
