Hannah Ford is a 19-year old Chicago-based drummer who has been called one of the best up-and-coming young drummers in the country. In 2006 Hannah won the Louie Bellson Heritage Days Drum Competition (the only girl to ever do so) and the "Outstanding Jazz Musician" award at the New Trier Jazz Festival in Chicago. In February of 2007 Hannah was once again recognized with an "Outstanding Musician" award at the annual "Jazz in the Meadows Festival" in Chicago. Closing out the year Hannah won the "Best Drummer/Musician" category in Suburban Nitelife Magazines's "Best of the Burbs" readers poll, an accomplishment she achieved again in 2008.
Over the past few years shes performed in the Chicago area with the criticallyacclaimed local fan-favorite, Universal Slim and the Blues Kangaroos while her current performance projects include The Hannah Ford Band (Rock Power Trio), Pandorum (Fusion Power Trio) and her one-woman Peace, Love & Drums multi-media show.

  • Some people are really rude check out her other videos or her on the drum channel or her in her LIVE SHOWS!! She is an amazing drummer and singer and if anyone says she isn't they are just jealous!

  • @nozjob1701 My only problem is she's obviously playing to a recording. Check out my featured video (from my last clinic) if you want to see how to do a seminar properly. As for practicing, there's really no need once you've mastered your instrument.

  • I've been a fan and follower of Hannah for a few years now. She is growing as a musician and performer daily and it's fun to watch. A lot of well known drummers (Danny Seraphine, Terry Bozzio, Stanton Moore, Daniel Glass) respect and support her. Seeing her live is a completely different deal than these performances on youtube. Check her out when she is in your area.

  • Ever notice how anything positive has a user name like "notzj1701" or "aqAQ1z"? Those user names were set up by Dave, her dad. The same guy that poses as her online all the time. He didn't make it himself and wants to push his daughter to the "top" so to speak. Any negative comments on his, oh, excuse me, her account (Jazzhorns = David) are never posted. She can't make it by herself and he will sink her faster than a rock.

  • Some of you need one of us adults to tuck you in, too? Did some of you actually physically whine as you typed your comments out or was your pacifier securly in place at the time? How utterly sad these comments are. What's interesting is that I've never heard that kind of negativity from anyone but average musicians. And you know why they're average? Because they approach life and music as some of you do and that's just pathetic.

  • Her father, Dave Ford, is the hype behind the girl. He failed as a trumpet player and now wants his girl to "make it big" in the music world. I appreciate anyone wanting their family to do well. Ripping off a variant of the Soul Train "Peace Love and Soul" tag line and replacing it with "Peace Love and Drums" is amusing. She's not a spectacular drummer. She dropped out of college where she was "majoring" in music. Every decent jazz club in Chicago will not have her back. Jazz drummer, not!

  • shes no buddy rich !

  • @notzj1701 Did you read what I wrote????? And what's your point with her age???? It does not matter if she is 10 or 100 years old. I my point of view, if your an average drummer you should be a spectator and not a clinician.... You see how clearly you did not understand what I wrote. Positive discrimination. The only point that may be right is that she might be inspiring kid. Even that, should she deserve to take the place of other drummer that can also inspire kids too?

  • @ThePUSO666 AMEN!!!
