Allen Park residents make voices heard in high tension meeting with city council and mayor

Hundreds of people packed Tuesday night's city council meeting, because they don't want the city's firefighters to be laid off. They are also concerned about the city being under investigation by the Security and Exchange Commission and they don't like the way the Mayor, Gary Burtka, is handling the money.

Many residents think the trouble really started with the deal surrounding Unity Studios and the money spent on the property. That is what the SEC is looking into.

At the emotional meeting, a couple of people did call for the Mayor to resign. He tells reporters he doesn't plan to resign, but rather stay the course and help the city weather the financial storm it is facing.
