Bigfoot Underwater Studio

The Bigfoot Underwater Studio (http://uw-studio.com/), located in Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines, is a self-contained underwater film production unit, equipped with its own insert tank, marine platform, crew, film gear with underwater housing, and on-site construction facility for building and rigging underwater sets.

The studio has managed a wide range of productions, from documentaries and features, such as the award-winning WWII documentary USS COOPER, Fashion TV, Nautical Angels, DEEP GOLD, etc

The Bigfoot Underwater Studio crew has thousands of logged hours shooting in the sea and within their insert tank. The crew is composed by a diverse set of safety divers, grips, gaffers, cameramen and audio technicians, all experienced in working in underwater conditions.

Also available an onsite Art Department that specializes in building and assembling underwater sets and props. They have designed and built everything from a C-130 airplane and professional boxing ring, to a bomb detonator all for placement and filming within the insert tank and the sea.

Equipment is made up of underwater housings for a multitude of camera bodies, including the RED camera, that cater for the complete range of camera formats, from 35mm to high definition. The underwater rig in the insert tank is capable of creating shootings from either inside the tank, or into the tank from one of several exterior filming windows. Also in place there is a complete underwater lighting package, so that a director of photography can create a wide range of looks. A specialized communication system was installed so that a director can effectively communicate with his actors and crew in the water.

Also available a specially rigged marine platform equipped to travel to any number paradise islands in the Philippine Archipelago that contains all the diving and film gear that one could need.
