Learn why Kevin Hastings has picked Korg gear to back up Rihanna. Kevin gives us a guided tour of his rig, and explains why he can't live without his Korg M3, RADIAS and his newest addition, the microSAMPLER! For more information, please visit www.korg.com.
I find that the embedded firmware inside the microcontrollor of a workstation keyboard is much more stable than a PC computer running Windows or a apple computer running mac. Don't have to worry about hard drive crashes because the OS firmware and the wavform sounds are stored on a microchip. So that's the draw back for computer VST DAW and beat making software users is possible that a virus or a crash could happen.
Seems like the way we was saying he doesn't use computer and VST plug in is that I he probably doesn't use Propellerhead Reason anymore. But I do agree Hardware is still solid and don't have to worry about crashes viruses and other computer disasters. I would hate to waste my money on an Open Labs product playing live and the hard drive crashes. The computers in embedded in keyboard workstations are different and more stable than a regular computer.
"i used a lot of software for a while..with korg totally replace everything in my rig"...funny cause it seems that most musicians are going the otherway.. well he gets a lot of stuff for free!.. he has like 9000 dollars or more behind him
@9JohnSmith9 well sure that's the reason. My question is why was it even added as a tag? Because you happen to see a little bit of it in the background? Pretty stupid. They should have added a tag for the Ultimate monitor stand back there as well, and the monitor, and the maker of his leather jacket, and his hair gel.........
@DJCORNBEEFKING Well, except for the Beat Thang.

@jawshumperdink that could depend on what is needed for the specific tour or gig, as he tells you in that Reason 4 video about what he uses it for.
