I can understand where these people are coming from. You get indoctrinated to believe that your religion offers the very best design for living, and then the facts (e.g. gay parents are as good as straight parents, Evangelicals divorce more than atheists, etc.) contradict your beliefs. You either have to abandon the belief system that you've built your life on, or you have to deny the facts. It's a terrible predicament.

She is an idot. She's citing studies that have nothing to do with these wealthy women who are having a child. It is this woman (Shaw) who is making political statements and arguments. If her ilk doesn't approve of same-sex marriage or gay adoption on religous grounds, then man-up and say so. I wish, however, they would stop hiding behind debunked studies that don't support their arguments and say their beliefs are supported by science.

gombis - I think lesbians who wear trousers/ suits more than dresses are just being themselves - as are gay men who are more feminine. It happens both ways. The lesbians who hide their tit's and grow facial hair probably are transgender but none of the lesbians i know do that. It's a bit like a drag queen hiding his dick. gay men wouldn't do that unless tehy were a drag queen.
