Sadists who hacked off an eight-week-old puppy's ears with a pair of scissors have avoided prosecution because witnesses refused to give evidence in court.
"They spoke to me but they were quite clear in their minds that they wanted to remain anonymous because of fear of the people that were involved," he told NZPA.
Each year thousands of animals are injured or die of abuse and neglect in New Zealand. Often this violence against animals goes unpunished. These statistics are but the tip of the iceberg, for violence against children and Animals that link between animal and child abuse.
These are the tip of the iceberg. Many cases are never reported obviously. If you ignore cruelty it will not go away, but instead will grow as violence within your community!
Animal cruelty is fast becoming a serious issue; it should no longer be swept under the rug. New Zealand shamefully has one of the highest rates of child abuse in the world. A psychiatrist who surveyed groups of violent adults found that in one group of patients who had reportedly tortured cats and dogs, all had high levels of aggression to people.
"It's frustrating knowing who's responsible but not being able to take that extra step to follow through, which is a common problem that the SPCA has because the animals don't talk so we do rely on either a confession or witness statements."

  • @xdtwistx I ensure you it's not painful. The ear has a big part of skin, and they just cut it. In any case, the animal is anesthetized... it must be! :)

  • @Technova1976

Having his ears cut off with scissors would hurt and there could be infection and risk of other medical problems, believe me, they feel pain and an at home procedure would be extremely painful for the puppy. Just so you know.

  • There is an overabundance of sadists in police and military

  • ...The animal does not hurt and does not feel pain. It's the same thing with the plastic surgery that people do, to look better.

It’s not a crime and you shouldn't present like it is!

  • The cutting of ears in pit-bulls is not illegal. There is a large piece of unnecessary skin on their ears where cut to help the dog’s hearing (because the skin falls on the ear), and an indirect reason is the aesthetic part. The dog looks more beautiful, something that many people likes! Veterinarians make a small and easy operation and the dog is fine...

  • Some humans are really disgusting.

Thank you for rescuing the poor dog.
