This is my first car and first mini :)
Standard 998cc engine, no mods or anything. Runs and drives like a dream!
There's just one problem: the engine uses quite some oil so it needs a rebuild. That's why you see some smoke coming out of the exhaust (engine is cold as well).
Anyway, enjoy the video :)

  • i got one today, that is like exactly the same, my first car too!

  • @xSaniityCommunity It's a great little car, isn't it? ;)

  • Amazing car!!!!! if you don't mind telling me how much you paid and if you had to do anything to it? :D

  • @FRANK2759 Thanks! I've paid 1850 euro's, that's just over 1200 pounds. I did have to do some work to get it in good shape. The rear subframe has been replaced and so has the engine. The original A engine burnt alot of oil. Now I've got a 998cc engine from a '92 Racing Green, which has only done about 40,000 miles so far. It also got a right front wing because the old one was damaged. Last month I renewed all tires. I also have mounted MK2 rear lights, mud guards and chrome mirrors.

  • hi mate, i am in love with your mini, can i just ask what the acceleration is like on the standard engine like tha, many thanks

    tom

  • @DrummerJunior13 The acceleration wasn't too bad but wasn't great either. It's a good little runner and goes along nicely but I have since fitted a Stage One kit, first with Peco exhaust and now with an RC40 twin box. It's still quiet but drives better in my opinion. I do love the 998cc engine though. It's economical, reliable and always drives great!

No bad for a first car like :P

  • @RiskyR yeah its amazing! :D

  • £1000 as first car insurance is great imo. my neighbour has a '71 beetle and that cost £1200 and £1500 on his own insurance fully comp'ed (he's 17)
