Shootout liberating Chickie from the Fathers in Episode 3. The background music is the unforgettable House of the Rising Sun, by The Animals. Unbelievably cool choice of music in a miniseries that did all the right things with the soundtrack.

  • what happened with grace??

  • Kidnapped by the sinister Fathers. If you can track down a copy (it's available on DVD) I'd highly recommend watching.

  • was this a soap opera?

  • In all honesty, sort of, yes.

  • what does "on honestly sort of yes mean? i assume you are saying that it has soap soap opera elements

  • You assume correctly.

  • Totally agree. "House of the Rising Sun" has been used in a number of movies and TV shows, but I always remember the anguished cry of "Chickie!" whenever I hear this song.

  • It's never a good sign when "House of the Rising Sun" starts playing.

  • Remember that line in the show when the reporter says to Grace's mother, "There are pictures of you committing the crime!"

And she simply says sacarcastically, "Please." That was pretty amazing prediction back then, as pictures couldn't be so easily faked. Now you have people who can fake all kinds of things in their basement using cheap programs.

Anyone know when Church Windows is on?

  • Wild Palms play The Volks next week as part of The Gt Escape's Alt Escape in Brighton. Get your ticks at Gigswiz.com. Friday 13th May

  • This series deals a lot with scientology. As for the soundtrack, compare the Wild Palms-theme with the composition Clouds (Nuages) by french composer Claude Debussy. You´ll be astonished...

  • @andreapanda she died

  • @andreapanda

    she was killed

We ordered it off of Ebay awhile back. Nice professional 2 disc copy, still in the wrapper. :-D

Great film. Back from before Oliver Stone sold out. (Assuming of course he wasn't always sold out.)

  • Kathryn Bigelow directed this episode, by the way. (The hotly hot director who won the Oscar this year.)

i think he means, since it was a network tv miniseries, the writing style has the elements of a soap opera, if only for the sake of commercial time, and getting the viewer to watch all 4 nights the story aired.

    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.

  • Unforgettable. Thanks for uploading this clip.

  • Wild Palms was one of the best and most underrated mini-series (or series for that matter) that has ever been aired. Way ahead of its time and story being too brilliant for most critics to like and too complicated to short-attention-span mass to follow...pure jadarite you don´t see on TV anymore...
