Whirlpool Washer code F 21 fixed!

Girls can fix things too! (with the help of other fine folks who post solutions on youtube) I had a code F21 that kept coming up. It means the drain cycle is taking too long (and the filter is probably clogged). To fix it is easy. Open up the bottom panel on the washer, (3 easy to unscrew screws) untwist the filter and find out what's behind it. Voila! (oh and put a towel down. it leaks a ton of water when you open it.)

the cover comes off by pulling it towards you once you've unscrewed the screws.

thanks for your help. The drain cover turns counter clockwise and is tough to get off - we cut a plastic milk carton into a funnel to drain into a bucket, so the water didn't flood all over the floor. When the bucket filled we tightened the drain cover back up slightly, so we could empty the bucket.

Don't forget about the manual taped to the bottom cover so if you have any other error codes!!!

Did you have any thongs stuck in there? lol. I see you did not. and you only had 28 cents.... not enough to buy a coffee. but put it in a jar and save it. I've had the f-21 code twice now. only a dime the second time a three more childs socks. (I threw them out as they stunk like marsh, and the kids are growing up, not worth saving)
