The Ringleaders won the first British national quartet competition back in 1974 - unfortunately this was before the days of video and there is no footage available - so here is a slideshow of the some photos of the guys (Bill Little - Bass, Ron Avis - Baritone, Bob Walker - Lead and Paul Wren - Tenor) accompanied by them singing their acceptance number (The Auctioneer) at the convention at Tyneside 1974 just after the results had been announced. So this is a little piece of history!!
Bob and Ron both live in Horsham Sussex, both are singing, Bob with at least one quartet and chorus. Paul is in CA singing with 2 quartets, one Barbershop chorus and a classical chorus, Bill we have lost touch with - but if you know him ask him to get in touch!!

  • Good job Paul !! Love it !! Not sure my 4tet (The Sweenies) would be able to get our tongues around the words this song though. It was great meeting you last night. See if you can spot me in my videos?
