It is NOT illegal to express advocacy of the assassination of a public official, as affirmed in Brandenburg vs. Ohio, 1969.

My gran once said "The left-wing love everybody except themselves and the right-wing love nobody except themselves." - it's still the most true piece of political advice I ever heard.

but he's doing the best he can with what he has been given. On the abortion issue, I believe if the mother's life is in danger then it should be a choice. On gun control, criminals are going to get guns no matter what. That's why they're criminals. I consider myself independent, and I'm glad to see someone of like-mind.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, but I voted for Obama due to the fact that, with McCain, the next eight years--these current years--as far as warfare was concerned, was very uncertain. To me, after Saddam was brought down, unnecessary fuel to the Iran issue. Now, I agree, the whole thing with Iran is unstable, but we still have troops, thin in number, in Afghanistan. Not to mention we had plenty of problems here at home. Now, granted some of Obama's policies I don't agree with (cont.)

look for the Centris party... :D

I hear you on the crazy extreme left and right. Both extremes cut down each other. Both extremes are hurtful. Thats why a new party of middletons would be good. One of my brothers is a real lefty and calls those who disagree with him idiots and racists. I know ive had more black friends than him plus gay friends. How can he have the nerve to calll me an idiot? It doesnt take a lefty to embrace people for their character or lack thereof... i just see folks for their good character.

1st the election in iraq was not a based on political but rather religious line hence it can't be called a democracy. not forgetting the leaders have criminal history. regarding hitter he may declared dictator for life but that don't tack away from the fact he was elected. in fact he served not long hence he did not become a dictator. as for the connection i was not comparing but stating a direct connection. How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power
good god man. what democracy are talking about? as for a democracy attacking a democracy have ever heard of Nazi Germany?

Sorry, don't understand your first question. Could you be a bit more specific?
As for Germany, It wasn't "Nazi Germany" before Hitler and the Nazi's took over, and after, can not, by any stretch, be said to have been a Democracy.

on my first question. i was merely questioning the so called democracy in Iraq. as the case of Nazi Germany Hitter was elected pure and simply that is fact not an opinion. what he did may was bad but it doesn't negate he was elected. if you want me to show the connection of the US republican and nazi Germany more then happy to.

re: the democracy in Iraq - We'll see if those in power now are willing to relinquish power when their current terms are up, but the current government was elected by the Iraqis.
As for Hitler, yes, he was elected Chancellor, but had himself declared dictator for life. At that point, Nazi Germany ceased to be a democracy.
But PLEASE don't tell me you're going to try to compare the Republican Party to the Nazi's... That makes as much sense as comparing the Dems to Stalinists.

Switzerland is NOT a Nordic state! ;-P
But it has been peaceful for a few times as many years as the US has existed!
I like this rant a LOT and I am so SORRY that you keep apologizing for ranting! You are RIGHT! People should never be dismissed or condemned because of their political (or religious) views! If they act on those views in an illegal manner, that's something else entirely. But if people were better at RESPECTING each other, this world might not always have wars :-)

Right you are regarding Switzerland not being a Nordic State... I didn't really mean to include Switzerland AS a Nordic State, but was adding the Nordic States in those very few Democracies in the world that have a long history of peaceful transfer of power.
As for apologizing for my rant, I believe that was the first time I've done so. I haven't generally don't like to post when I'm angry about something, but am so disgusted by this divide our country is goign through, it utterly disgusts me.
