This is one of my favorite Pete Smiths! I feel bad for the poor dog--what a mess he was when she turns the faucet on him! I wonder today, what that $3 dinner would cost, and if a wife today would serve sausages to her husband's boss?

Originally released in April 1937 (and one of the few "Specialties" released in color). It was so successful, "Prudence Penny" returned for another "Specialty" the following year, "Penny's Party". Gertrude Short appears as "Chloe Smudge"; William Newell is "Matthew E. Smudge".

1:43 -- I remember this scene from the three-screened TV set in Tex Avery's "House of Tomorrow"! I always thought the film was run backwards to create that rolling pin effect; obviously I was wrong...
