@SijoJay What's false in my statement? and which statement? Everything in this post fits with what I know, except I don't remember making any comments about this. So I agree with this post. Many village styles do not follow Hung history or family structure. When you start counting in these styles, you see that the more famous family styles are actually in the minority.Maybe better organized, but not necessarily better, and definitely with more colorful histories.(A lot of which may be myths.)

@trandilar Lam Sai Wing is credited with refining the Tiger Crane 2 man set, the rest of your statement is false. Wong Yan Lam/Wong Yun Lum (same person) was one of the 10 tigers of Canton, master of Hop Gar, According to Lama Pai oral history, Wong Fei-Hung learned from Wong Yan-Lam the long arm techniques found in the Tiger Crane Paired Form Fist. Wong Kei Ying and son (Wong Fei Hung) shared techinques with Wong Yan Lam.

@trandilar Four pillars came later. There were originally 3, Gung Gi Fuk Fu Kuen (Taming Tiger), Fu Hok Seung Ying Kuen (Tiger Crane), Tiet Sin Kuen (Iron Wire). Some schools teach 5 animals, some 5 elements, some both and some the combined form of 5 animals 5 elements as the 3rd pillar leading to Tiet Sin Kuen. Therefore there are 3 true and main pillars of Hung Kuen seeing that the other "Pillar" varies from school and lineage.

The beginning of this form is reminisant of Wing Chun's Sil lim tao. It could be the relation of gee shim to both arts. This Sifu is in perfect form, in presentation of this Tiger crane form.

Rclickca: The Deng family lineage does three versions of the gung gi forms, fu hok (obviously) and a version of the iron wire set. they don't use as many vocalizations, but they do vocalize. I've noticed the crane forms use a lot of the lama (Hap gar) energy in them.
Silojay:It's not the three pilars, it's four. I assume they picked up the gung gee version later on, or an early version?
Most of the village styles don't follow the four pillars method. Not all versions have the same forms.

1.Lam Sai wing is creditted with finishing and refining the four pillars, which wong fei hung started.
2 The tibretan white crane, hop gar or lama pai, came from Wong yun lums lineage.Yun Lum was a lama pai master who exchanged information with Sai wing. GM Lam folded the long arm techniques into his version of hong fist, changing it.

Sifu Lam, eu quero aprender essa forma, o senhor não tem em DVD, explicando passo a passo, ou então poderia fazer outro video explicando mais devagar no Ypu Tube.

@SijoJay - thank you for that precious gem.
"Hung Hei Gun is claimed to be the namesake of Hung Kuen, but this is false, Hung Gar Kuen is named for the Hung (red) brotherhood, anti manchurian rebel group. For both Hung Hei Gun and Luk Ah Choi were classmates at the same time under Gee Simm, so how could Luk be learning Hung's art? "
