กว่าร้อยวันบนถนนแห่งการต่อสู้ของพันธมิตรประชาชนเพื่อประชาธิปไตย: People's Alliance for Democracy 100+ days fight for democracy (PAD)2008

The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) (Thai: พันธมิตรประชาชนเพื่อประชาธิปไตย; also called the National Liberation Alliance - กลุ่มพันธมิตรกู้ชาติ, the National Liberation Party - พลพรรคกู้ชาติ, and the Yellow Shirts - คนเสื้อเหลือง) was originally a coalition of protesters against Thaksin Shinawatra (ทักษิณ ชินวัตร), the former Prime Minister of Thailand. Its leaders include media-mogul Sondhi Limthongkul (สนธิ ลิ้มทองกุล), Chamlong Srimuang (จำลอง ศรีเมือง),ธhe secretary of the Thailand's Federation of Government Owned Enterprise Labour Somsak Kosaisuuk (สมศักดิ์ โกศัยสุข),The Professor at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Somkeit Pongpaibul (สมเกียรติ พงษ์ไพบูลย์), and former ISOC leader Pallop Pinmanee (พิภพ ธงไชย). It was one of the chief players in the Thailand political crisis from 2005 to 2006. The PAD consists of middle and upper-class Bangkokians and Southerners, supported by the conservative elite, factions of the Thai Army, and state-enterprise labor unions.
The People's Alliance for Democracy has been re-established in Thailand on March 28, 2008 at Thammasat University auditorium. Several issues was raised by the PAD, including the Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej ties to Thaksin Shinawatra (ทักษิณ ชินวัตร), ties between some People's Power Party members and the banned-Thai Rak Thai party, and attempts to amend the 2007 Constitution. Among the amendment proposed was removal of Article 237 which would dissolve a political party if one of the executives was involved in vote buying. Yongyuth Tiyapairat, People's Power Party executive who was also the Parliament president after the election, was being tried for vote buying. Yongyuth was later found guilty by the Supreme Court on July 8, 2008.

Demonstration by PAD started on May 25, 2008 at Democracy Monument on Ratchadamnoen Road to protest the proposal for constitution amendment. The rally attracted ten thousand supporters. As the rally went on, PAD announced their effort to collect signatures to request removal house representatives and senates who supported the amendment on May 30, 2008.The next day Samak expressed on government-run NBT television channel his intention to dissolve the rally by force. In reaction to Samak's speech, PAD issued announcement against the government's move.

  • Can you imagine...without weapons but full of kindly hearts and fight for rights , they died...? Why we still keep looking or this country is not belong to us? Please...Consider about that...you still have time to change these crisises and violences ...for.... our next generations...they will have the better lifes from what we have tried to do now...Special thanks for those who are realized who we are...where we were born...and what we should do...if we love the country...

  • History will have to remember these heroes who are building a better political future for our children. The political future of our country can not be monopolized by member from a few families. Enough is enough for nepotism and cronyism and political corruption.

  • "I shall rule over the Siamese people with righteousness" Even if it kills them.

    Bhumibol Adulyadej, 9 June 1946

  • Is Queen $irikit still the PAD leader?

This message exist because Suwicha Thakor is in prison.

  • มีแต่พวกควายแดงร้องโหยหวน เมื่อควายตัวพ่อตกเก้าอี้เพราะความบัดซบของตัวเอง

  • According to Thai law, Phumibol Adulyadet murdered his brother which means he will be beheaded along with family members up to seven generations.

  • The killing of students at Thammasart University on 6th October was ordered by Samak in 1976 (Go look it up on youtube: Samak interview with CNN) When you fail to know such basic information, don't be trying to fake it out, it won't work.

The coup in 2006 doesn't surprise at all. An extremely corrupted government doesn't deserve to remain in power. It's not that the King doesn't want Thaksin, it was what Thaksin deserved for what he did!

  • pantamit4eva ,The king is just an animal also but there is a law that prohibits anyone talking bad about the king and royal family. The king supported the blood bath at Thammasart University on 6th October 1976 ,allowed the army to stage a coup in September 2006.And god forbid if killed his brother to be on the throne.A man that does not honour his words.

  • How??

Like I said before, you can't compare an animal of corruption to a great King. Very big differnce.

  • criticize him for what??

keep in mind, you can't compare an animal of corruption to our great king.
