Improved Magnetic Rings

Based on a design by David Hamel, this is a more refined version of my earlier experiment involving two magnetic rings in repulsion to each other.

After I have fixed those two things, what is the right height for the cone? Thanks for your help.  Most people dont have true insight into these kinds of things, so you are a rare person to find. Please tell me more. I still have my design that you see in the video, and now that I know what to do, I will begin modifying it.

erik, you sound as if youve built a working model of what your talking about. If so, then by all means tell me what I need to do to get this thing working. I can increase the size of the outer ring by using magnets with larger diameters. I understand that if the inner ring sits inside a much larger outer ring, than it wont have to be so heavy. In my video, I am weighting the cone down a great deal so that it doesnt pop up from inside the outer ring. Your design may help to fix this problem.

erik, thank you for commenting. This is not the completed Hamel device, but only a small part of it. I would need to make 3 of these cone set ups and a few other parts as well. A youtube user named anandaadhar has built the complete setup and he has a couple videos of it here on youtube. Watch his videos. He doesnt understand unfortunately that the cones to not spin, but they wobble in circles very fast, and together create a collective vibration that is self sustaining. There is more to..

into the tubes. He found that the iron balls began to vibrate at high speed after sometime and then shot threw the tubes and into solid concrete with incredable force. Your experiment sounds at least a little bit similar.

Ive already seen that guys video and he did it wrong too...i know they wobble, but they do also spin..and you can do it with just one cone...i know alot more than you might think..thats why im letting you know what the mistakes were..I'll make my own video later.
