Over 400 ships of all types suffered light to sever damage & some had to return to Allied or USA ports for repairs. Only 20-25% of the ~8,000+ Jap. aircraft available in the Okinawan Campaing were kamikaze. Japan lost ~7,800 & the USA & Britain ~800 aircrfat from all causes during the ~3-month Okinawan campaign.

Tough to be "politically correct" when politics are always changing. Nothing treasonous or disloyal in it. Akin to "Nip" and "Jap" or even "Gook" and "Spik" would get the press hung today and most need to keep their jobs in this tottering economy. Just saying.

Note carefully the descriptions of fighting members of The Greatest Generation as brave, gallant and heroic against the suicidal Japs. Reflect on this the next time you happen to be subjected to the flagrant disloyalty if not outright treasonous behaviour of the national press as it currently exists in the last few years. To describe it as disgraceful is to scarcely scratch the surface.
