After reviewing the SolarGorilla I've bought the DZ Energy Portable Solar Solution. The portable solar panel along with the small rechargable battery pack make for a good bit of solar kit

  • Harbor Freight should be coming out with a similar version for under $60.

  • Amorphous panels, the DZ unit, work better in low light but have a lower Watt/Sq cm than the Gorilla, a Poly Crystal in PET.

An interesting idea would be to drain both and charge both with a Clamp Meter on each showing a total charge for the same day, same angle to sun at the same location. In UK Amorphous panels would probably work better, Similar to New england or North West in the states. Morph panels need 6 months of sun to season in.
