Hey guys!

This tune just popped into my head during a conversation about feeling old the other day, which lead to it being completely stuck in my head... So I had to cover it! ^^ (Kinda incomplete cover, but whatever.)

Initially, I didn't plan on posting this on YouTube, but after hearing the result I feel that it's good enough. Still practicing my cleans to get them the way I want them - I feel that I'm making progress now! :D

I'm also really happy with the drum programming on this one. Everything (synth, drums and vocals) is done by ear/memory (except I had a cheat sheet for the lyrics). I didn't try to make an exact replica of the original, I wanted to do it in my own "mellow style" kinda way.

I know I promised you guys more metal, but it's just not happening right now. Soon though, soon! I'm still waiting for my new computer, and these days I'm in a really mellow mood.

  • ni vir my ni jamr man

  • @nemesisssix ? Oo

  • I'd say your kick drum's sound is a bit too strong for this kind of music, but anyways, great job! Porcupine Tree ftw.

  • @minomol I considered making the kick more dynamic (different velocities for different hits and so on). That would've made it a lot better, but it would take way too much work. ^^" This entire thing was made in one evening, so I didn't feel like pouring too much effort into it. :)

    Cheers! :D

  • You never fail to let me down bro! I absolutely love your cleans! And the fact that you did the backing track largely from memory is impressive.

Even if you did promise more metal, more of this is just as good ;)

Keep up the great work mate!

  • @deadline9 Thanks a bunch! :D

  • Hey

I found your link for your cover on the side linked to my band's video. Sounds cool! Good job with the electronic drum kit and your clean vocals sound awesome. My favorite thing about metalcore is bands that have a duality of clean and scream vocals, would love to hear more!

My name is Michelle and I'm in a band called the Infidelities. would you mind checking out our band some time?

    We're from Long Island, NY.

  • This is...just something beautiful. Mellowness can be sensed in this.

I didn't know that cover of a song could bring so good feeling to mind.

Your voices is just so different from Steven Wilson but it really fits to this song. So mellow and nice... I really would like to hear more like this from you!
