Look under vehicle and assaults - Successive turns - models in base to base contact move out of the way if a vehicle pivots on the spot and then are moved BACK into base to base contact. You would then continue on with the rules of tank shocking. However, the pivoting does NOT count as the tank shock. This is all per the rules in the book.

He's allowed to rotate onto a new heading and move your troops asside enough to do it. It's this weird exception for tanks that are surrounded after an assault that they talk about on Pg 63 of the book.
It's a tough break for your opponent but if he's not clear on the rules then the TO's going to have to make a call.

well, first things first, after assault of a vehicle, you're supposed to move your models 1" away from the vehicle. No one ever does this because its a pain in the ass, but yeah. He should have enough free space to move around before or after.

IDK

@ZatoichiBlindSword true.. but thats only for units that were in combat with the tank
-
@RetributionAngel No it's not. Pg 63. They move back into contact after he pivots. He CAN declare a tankshock, but it is not initiated if he jsut rotates over a spot the foew as in.
-
Pg. 63 - successive turns. If they were touching (from assaulting) then the LR could turn freely. If they were not touching and staying an inch away, then they could not be repositioned with this rule.
-
Well he has to be an inch away from your model, so you could pivot (which doesn't count as part of your move) and than tank shock.
-
well if he contested by backy uo and moving forwards did it effect the game that much? yeah u would just move and he would tank shock or you could just surround him and he couldnt move anywhere but forwards with a shock

@korona3103 yea but's really sad is the TO obviously didn't have a rulebook nor did his opponent any game i play i always bring my rulebook for this kind of stuff, i've proven TO's wrong just by grabbing my rulebook and saying here it is.
Matt you are such a gentleman. I have to get back up there for the next Battle for Salvation event for sure.
