The manga is still ongoing so the anime could not have given a definitive answer of this couple. Even now there isn't a resolution but the good news is that Masumi is not married yet and that they've basically confessed their love to one another. Hopefully the mangaka will give them a happy ending but who knows.

SPOILER I love this video and the anime itself but i hated how he didnt get with her they showed that they were soul mates but im pretty sure he had already decided to marry that other lady so that would mean that they could never be together this is the main reason the anime made me so mad in the end when it didnt tell if masumi decided to be mr purple roses and go and be maya or he really let himself get married
