A MOTHER 4 wouldn't work. Besides Mother 1, the stories tied into each other. The gameplay might be good but the story just wouldn't fit.

I can see why Itoi didn't make another sequel. The ending to Mother 3 was a perfect way to end the series. I wouldn't mind the fanmade sequel but I don't think it wouldn't feel right.
