  • freaking awesome man! I have yet to get me an old SGI system :(

  • And then the SGI Octane III was unleashed on the unsuspecting populous...

  • Rad!

  • Great deal!

  • Um.. I have an octane r12K 300MHZ and its definitely nowhere near as fast as any computer on the market today. I still love it and prefer it to a PC however :)

  • that came on the demo disks for the o2

  • yeah those are nice machines. I bought an old SGI O2 running at 175 MHZ R10K for $200. Very fast. I intend to max it out, add MIDI and video capture capabilities & network it with a Mac. With all the bells and whistles, it should be almost as powerful as any computer on the market today. SGI's were true 3D machines, not 2D and half. So what you see on them is the real thing. Plus they were renowned for their video import capabilities. Very HQ. Use to sell for $15,000.

  • What about the doom game??
