OK my bad, the key is in Eb so yes one could (should) drop the E string to D. To be honest I have never had to learn the song to perform, else I would have paid more attention to the actual key. I just found it a good groove to play with. Good catch :0

No idea, I bought it used (well used!) for a bargain that I couldn't resist from a mate in his music store, so I am reluctant to quote the price as I do not think it would be a reflection. It's a 1992 so maybe you could see what they are selling for online somewhere?
