Green Construction - Controlling Risks in a Green Environment

Robert A. Meynardie, an attorney in private practice in Raleigh and Chad Roberson, AIA, LEED AP, a principal in Asheville in the architectural firm of Pearce, Brinkley, Cease & Lee will discuss recent developments in the construction industry. The discussion will focus on Green or Sustainable building, including regulatory requirements and third-party certification programs such as LEED certification. In addition, the discussion will cover the many other recent developments in the construction industry, such as building information modeling and collaborative forms of contracting. The presentation will include a discussion of the legal risks and regulatory framework surrounding green construction and how new technology is evolving to handle these issues.
