  • at 4:44 1.nf3? 1...Rg8+!! then you just lost your attack.....and if he went down the exchange it would be ok earlier because that would be sacrificing to defend which probably would of worked out in whites favor if he could trade down into an endgame, but there is no forced win

  • If he had done that, I play Kf7, and if he takes my rook on a8, i just take his queen with my knight, and check him. He was already down 2 pawns, and now he is down a queen for a rook. He's almost down a whole queen, and i don't have a problem converting that kind of advantage. I would PRAY that he would trade down to an endgame at that point, as I would have NO problem queening a pawn or mating him with what i have.

  • who said take the rook on a8? go up one rank to Rg7+ then you have a rook for your queen

if he can get another check with the queen then your lost

  • if he checks me on Rg7, i just take his rook for nothing. How does that help him? notice i went to f7 with my king, not e7, which would lose the queen for the rook, but then i get to take his queen with my knight (with check)...either way i'm winning a lot of material. a whole rook, or a queen for a rook.

  • Still it is an disadvantage that decides games espevially as at this level of gaming not many mistakes are made. But you are right: Being a piece down doesn't necessarily mean to lose.

  • Being down a piece doesn't always mean that you have to lose.
