JVC GR-D815 Test Video

I've just bought a miniDV camcorder, and shot some random footage at home.

Featuring:

- a shitload of flowers
- our back yard
- Miki, the dirt bag (my cat)
- the fearsome mop
- the rusty faucet

I filmed a lot during my holiday last year with this camcorder, but now there is no cable or something to get it onto my computer. How did you managed to get it on your computer?

@michaelvankoppen Use a standard firewire cable, and capture your footage with any kind of editor program, like Sony Vegas of Adobe Premiere.

does nightmode allow you to film in the dark ?

and are you satisfied with the picture quality?

I am pleased with the picture quality. It's basically the quality, what you can see here in HD.

As for nightmode - I only tested it in twilight, and it was noticeably blurrier, but still ok. After all, it's a budget miniDV camera, with a small lens, so it's mainly good for shooting under good lighting conditions.

So overall - don't expect a miracle if shooting in the dark, but under good conditions - and especially for this low price - it's a good buy.
