On Thursday, June 21, 2007, San Jose community members held a rally and packed the City Hall Chambers as the San Jose City Council, San Jose Police Department, the Independent Police Auditor, and City Manager debated how the SJPD should be held accountable for their actions. The IPA office requested for more investigative authority, while the SJPD, backed by the City Manager, resisted. At the almost 4 1/2 hour long meeting, the San Jose City Council approved giving the IPA a little bit more authority in police oversight.
Community members know this is just the beginning of a city-wide movement to hold the police accountable to the people.
my opinion Police are corrupt and they have a Code of silence called "Cops should never rat on a cop" LoL there is a book called "Walking With The Devil" The Police Code Of Silence"
First Edition it states what bad cops don't want you to know and good cops won't tell !!!

first of all san jose is not a beautiful city its a hole in what use to be a beautiful valley... There is no doubt that power abuse does occur with law enforcement, (very sad what happened to that girls father, im sorry). However the majority of the time if treated with respect they will take it easy on you, unless you deserve to be manhandled or need to be taken down. In some cases it may be necessary to subdue someone and protect themselves rather than risk injury because they hesitated.
