My first video posting after suffering a stroke 3 weeks ago. The acoustic guitar is building my strength again. I said I would be back!

  • hey dude, good for you, you freakin nailed that shit. by the way, that french guy said:

"i don't speak english but all the songs that you play are so cool, nice music."

just thought you'd like to know

  • Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate that. This was the first song I tried to record after having a stroke. I was worried that it would really affect my playing. I am happy to say that since this was recorded (6 months ago), I have lost 50 pounds, started excercising regularly and play guitar more than ever. I will start recording again soon. Peace brother, Stratman

  • This was the video that finally made me create an account JUST to comment on it. I think you play so masterfully and it brings such joy to see you play. You inspire me to go on, knowing you've recovered from a stroke. I read earlier comments, but still your playing is amazing---very thankful your hands didn't lose their gift.

I had been looking for a video of this wonderful song and yours was the first I found.

Play on and bring joy to us all. ROCK ON and peace!

  • Very kind words indeed, thank you my friend. I sure get a lot of good vibes like this from YouTube, which makes this a special place for musicians to share.

  • you are a real man !!! je ne parle pas anglais, mais toutes les pieces que tu joue sont vraiment COOL!!! telecaster, et stratocaster, WOW !!! nice music.

  • Man I can't fault you on that. 7 years ago my ex went to put a wine glass in my face and i put my left hand up, she cut the artery, tendons and nerves in my wrist. 28 stiches later I couldn't even tie my laces. She stole my guitar and said 'drop the charges and you get it back'. Charges dropped, the hard work now beings. I too got my guitar playing back but aint got feeling in the thumb and the two fingers beside it. But, if you play guitar, strokes and injuries are conquered. Keep on rocking!!

  • Way to go man!! Hope you have a full recover.

  • let's see you play it, douche.

  • Hi Bassman, watch the Led Zepp Live, 1973 version - and you can clearly hear the above, I see what you've played but and that was the recorded version, apologies, Just think the live version sounds so much better, particularly with that improvised bit, you;ll notice it as soon as you hear/see it.

  • i dont understand. how do you slide from the G chord to the D? please explain, i would really like to know...

and what do you mean when you say " single notes"

  • good clear sound, only thing is that many people who play this song play it incorrectly, if you want to play it like Jimmie, then you need to play the single notes A hammer B E B D hammer E then move directly to the D Chord.....If you really want to spice it up listen to the slide riff Jim Page plays which leads from the G chord to the D, Beautiful!!!!

  • AMAZING

  • Very good!!

    That was incredible. :)

  • That whas incredible.
