This is my most favorite gun

@SvenTviking i hear soldiers use to keep a spare clip and throw it on the ground so the enemy would poke there head up.lol good tactic

@Blahblobify I have talked to Korean war veterans of the British Royal Marines. They fought alongside US Marines and were issued M1s instead of Lee Enfields for commonality in ammo. I was told that Communist troops did indeed time bayonet charges to when several rifles had ejected their stripper clips, leaving a squad short of fire power. Communist Chinese prisoners said they were told to wait for several "Pings" together before charging. Of course this only happens in short range engagements,.

The only weakness is that stripper clip ejection "Ping" that tells the world that you have an empty weapon.

@Ryebreadman09 you are a totally ignorant fanboy. The AR 15 series of rifles are outstanding weapons, and make excellent tactical or survival weapons. The myth about them being unreliable is just that.. a myth. They require cleaning and care, but certainly no more than a comparable assault rifle. And you recommend a mini 14 over an AR? The mini 14 can barely group 4-6 inches over 150 yards, and the M-1 style action is very sensitive to dirt or debris. Much more so than an AR or AK. Stfu please..

30CAL, thanks for posting this video! Just acquired my first M1 from the CMP last month and waiting on Spring to shoot it. I was wondering though, what brand of shooting mat are you using there. Looks like a good one. Thanks!

@PulseofGlory The A-10 would have almost equal power, but would be lighter, and much more customizeable.

Even though a lot of these guns were made it is very hard to find one in great working condition as well as completely restored, the people who put time and effort into restoring them to there former and proper glory deserve a round of applause
What craftsmanship! So this is the gun for the zombocalypse! Extremely loud though and heavy. Is there something similar that is lighter, something that would be good for someone on the move and for hunting. Survival stuff? ps i am a girl 135 lbs and 5'6 with small hands :(

@PulseofGlory The only think similar to the M1 Garand that is smaller and lighter would be a Ruger Mini-14 or and M1 Carbine. For all practical purposes you'd be better off with an AR-15 carbine (M4) than either of those, though. The M4 has better ergonomics and tons of aftermarket parts and accessories.
