Intro to Economics iMovie (Special thanks to Zack Hemsey and his Inception theme entitled "Mind Heist.")
*note the typo of "aficionado"
Here's the story:
I work at Tupelo High School in Tupelo, Mississippi, and we are in our first full year of a 1:1 MacBook initiative. All 6-12 grade students have their own MacBook. All K-5 classrooms have a MacBook cart. All teachers have MacBook Pro computers. All administrators now have an iPad. The initiative began in January 2010 when all teachers and high school seniors got their laptop computers. So, this will be the first full year of the initiative.
Our first day of class was Wednesday, August 4th, 2010, and I wanted to greet them a little differently. I decided to connect huge desktop speakers with a subwoofer to my computer. After my new students came in to my Economics class, I shut the door, didn't say a word, turned out the lights, and turned this video on. Obviously, they were kinda floored, and three of my six periods actually stood up and clapped...and DIDN'T EVEN know me or anything about my class.
Feel free to show this video anywhere teachers, students, or administration needs a little technological encouragement in the classroom.
Thanks for viewing!

Great work, Braden! Congratulations for using your fantastic creativity to energize students for a new year, especially since all your students will have their own MacBooks this year!
Keep it up!
