  • My Grandad was on that ship :)

  • Wich one? :)

  • This is fantastic. How did you manage to get the recording? By any chance do you have George's message to the people on his silver jubilee? What about any of Queen Mary? I know she made only the rarest of public addresses. Thanks.

  • Well, I got the record from my contact in the UK. Its played back on my HMV-101.

And yeah, its quite nice, thats also why I posted it :)

  • The great and good King George the founder of the house of Windsor did the right thing. You have to think about your Country first of all and your own people.

The Tsar should have thought of the eventuality of revolution and should have taken measures to escape and provide safety for his family. Responsible people blame noone for what happen to them!

    They take responsibility for everything!

  • His last Christmas message.

  • Heart warming. Hope that feeling may be retained in today's Britain and all over the world. God Save the King!

  • My Great-grandfather (Walton Handy) broadcasting as the Cotswold Shepherd from the small village of Ilmington in Warwickshire, introduced King George V's Christmas Message to the "Empire".

  • It might be better for the longevity of the record if you used a more modern record player with a less heavy needle.

  • I think he was the most dutiful monarch in centuries!

  • Yes, no monarch has had any power since William IV.
