From Prime It Up and for the begining painter, an end to end tutorial about painting a 40K Ork to a tabletop standard, beginning with how to prepare a metal miniature and covering basic layering and ink wash techniques to help you bang out your army in record time.
Please be aware that this was a trial run, and due to hard drive failure is missing a couple of bits (nothing that can't be logically worked out).
If you have any trouble with any of the steps, missing or otherwise, please leave a comment and I will do my very best to answer you.
A picture of the finished mini can be seen here: http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/8062/orkuploadii7.jpg
Enjoy!!
I don't get why people always assemble the model first (more on about plastic models not metal) and then paint them. I always paint the pieces and assemble, it makes it much easier and a lot more accurate.
Also and does anyone else find it really annoying to glue a metal model together? I just assemble my first metal model and it was insanely frustrating. :(

Did you try scoring the areas that attach so the superglue has a better surface to 'key' onto? Also, with a lot of the metal models nowadays a pin is a good idea. As for painting assambled or in bits, both have their merits, I assemble fully on some models but not on others. Painting a fully assembled model does teach good brush control, though it can be frustrating. Painting in pieces means you get all the areas covered but there may be a gap when you put it together. But it's all good fun.
