PS22 Chorus "VOICES" by Nick Drake

The extraordinary voices of the PS22 Chorus of 2010 come together on this beautiful song by one of my all-time favorite songwriters, Nick Drake, called "Voices." (The song has also shown up as "Voice From The Mountain" on The TIme of No Reply release.)

Mike shows he's got a lot of soul with his solo, even if he doesn't care about Johnny....

Nick Drake is a relatively obscure singer/songwriter from the 1970's, and was one of the most innovative guitar players of his time. His lyrics are pure poetry (check out Fruit Tree, Three Hours, Day Is Done, Black Eyed Dog, etc.), and this song is particularly moving, especially sung by children. Nick unfortunately passed away at only 26 years of age, but this is PS22's tribute to this incredible musician and human being.

I can't stop watching this video and keep these kids voices in my mind all the time.

Please, Greg, tell us who brought this song to them. I think it was a wonderful idea. Nick was a genius and on this song he was heavenly inspired. Happy because the kids are put in touch with great music.

Wonderful job! Beautiful singing.. I love it. Can I ask if you tell them to move with their hands like that, or does it just happen? Are they just really moved by the music? either way its adorable.

Not a big deal, but the camera always seems to mug the kids sitting in the front. I know they're arranged by height, but you should maybe let the kids in the back get a little screen time.

Of course, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

How did I miss this?... youtube has been acting strangely (subscription videos not appearing etc.) for months. So good to see Nick Drake still in the 'mind' of PS22... River Man was the first PS22 video I ever saw. The harmony in this video reminds me of 'On The Willows' from Godspell. My school (work) just finished a three night show of Godspell and they got rapturous applause and standing ovations, even though only half the seats were taken because of the snow.
