  • Lets speak the truth. Understanding scripture will not be improved even if you learn modern,... premodern,... or so called biblical Hebrew. If learning Hebrew did there would be no disagreement between "Hebrew" speakers on what the scriptures really mean. I dare you to tell me concretely the definition of "Eloahim"?

All you can do is give me a word association,... but you "couldnt" tell me the meaning of this word?

  • @cushcush100 I'm sensing you want some type of reaction statement from me, this isn't the place for a debate.

  • Not all Grammars are really bad. Weingreen's Hebrew to English and English to Hebrew exercises aren't too difficult. You don't have to read all the technical stuff in the Grammar books straight away if you have a good teacher who can guide you through what you need to read and what can wait till later. But I do agree with you about there being a wrong approach. People should learn to read, listen and yes, even speak the language, not just understand it on a theoretical level.

  • @Daibhidh464 Yea thats one of the main reasons i made the video is for people who only want to learn it on a "theoretical" level and then expect to be able to learn rabbinical or modern Hebrew. It doesn't work that way you have to learn all aspects and the right way is not studying millions of grammar books initially so i agree with you.

  • What do you think about Living Biblical Hebrew by Dr. Randall Buth?

His approach is similar to what you mentioned.

  • @Daibhidh464 i checked out the demo, this product would be perfect for beginners to start with.

  • @Yirmeyahu23 No debate intended. But truthfully I already won. I noticed you didnt answer the question,... all i asked for was a simple answer. But your omission is proof enough.

Thanks a million for proving my point you master of the Hebrew language!

  • I've uploaded my deck to Anki now check it out.

  • Yirmeyahu, you have brought to mind some very important aspects of Biblical Hebrew that is often overlo oked from a Modern perspective. At first I was a little apprehensive about your vdeo, but after thinking about it, it reminded me about how I learned Hebrew and I realized that at first we need to recognize roots, that is foremost. Grammar can come later. Once we learn the grammar we sometimes forget what is important. Again, kudos on this video... 5 stars.
