@richard20bris actually some of the stars have mocked muslims or explained why they haven't. Britain is still predominately christian, and if you aren't then most are aware of the ideas of christianity and it's main figures. But bugger all know anything about islam, it's ceremonies, beliefs etc, so the audience wouldn't get the gags. And they've made gags at osama, various terrorists groups. Patrick kielty even went and called suicide bombers inept morons 'at least the IRA bombers survived!' etc
