must be quick. too much Baroque music is played much too slow.

I always find this piece doesn't really live unless it is played somewhat fast. It has to caress the listening. When it's slow, there is something about the melody that just doesn't come through. Some aspects of it don't even show up when played too slow.

Although at first I thought, "Whoa! This tempo is way too fast!" I soon became used to it. I found that the great beauty of this piece came shining through, despite, or perhaps in part because of, the speed.
