In this video my airspeed is probably in the 25mph range for the majority of this flight. If I were to pull in to try and quickly leave an area of sinking air I wouldn't want to take this particular glider faster than 50mph. With higher-performance wings you can pull in and reach speeds of 80-90 mph.

Very nice... A side comment, isn't flying through clouds against VRF?

Yes we're to remain clear of cloud and within specific separation parameters under VFR (Visual Flight Rules). Parameters that were clearly breached on this day due to this weather anomaly. Also this flight wasn't through the clouds but over-the-top.
