Dubbing caddis bodies with marabou is sick! Though I dont use the whole feather I trim the long fibers and use them like a chenille, once I tie in the ribbing I go back over the body with an old tooth brush to rough it up. Bro it looks sick in the water give it a try...it catches

Good comment about the Damsel fly nymph. I'd use the fly as tied for a damsel.

Buddy you are a better man than me to respond to the idiots who only want to criticize and have no legitimate point of discussion. This is an awesome fly. I have tied it in olive green, and black. I have caught trout, bass, bream and even a catfish on it. I appreciate your offerings here!
would it be possible to use chinele for the body

You could use chenille, but that somewhat defeats the design of the fly. By using the marabou as both the tail and the body, you use a single material. This also creates a slightly tapered body which is desirable in this fly. But experimentation with patterns is half the fun so try some chenille and see how you like it.

haven't you heard of dubbing if you'd dubbed you wouldn't have to have used that much marabbou you arent ment to tie in the stem of the feather anyway

Yes, I have regularly used dubbing. You can even make dubbing out of marabou feather. However, in this particular case, the twisted marabou gives a body that is different than you get with dubbing. The marabou gives a tight body with small bits of fluff sticking out (like gills) and does this making full use of a material, much of which would have been cut off and discarded. The leech patterns use this same technique of tying.
