Tony T here from Gamblers Television covering the NFL "Vegas Style" all season long.

The Dallas Cowboys finished the 2007 regular season with the best record in the NFC at 13-4. But in the divisional round of the playoffs the Cowboys dropped their playoff game at home to he Super Bowl Champion NY Giants. Tony Romo is 0-2 in the playoffs and the pressure is on head coach Wade Phillips to post a victory in the postseason because offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is waiting in the wings with his 3 million dollar a year salary. Oddsmakers have set the Dallas Cowboys projected win total for the 2008 season at 10 1/2 wins

Schedule:

Dallas plays in the NFC East and that means two games with Philadelphia, NY Giants and Washington. The Cowboys went 4-2 against the division last season. The NFC East plays the AFC North and NFC West this season. They have a tough road games at Pittsburgh and open the season at Cleveland. They catch a break hosting Seattle instead of traveling to about the most difficult place to play in the NFL. As the first place team in the NFC East they must play 2 other first place NFC teams and that means a road game at Green Bay and a home game against Tampa Bay.

Offense:

Tony Romo is coming off another Pro Bowl season as he passed for over 4200 yards and 35 TD's. He did fumble 9 times last season and they Cowboys were very fortunate as they were able to recover many of his fumbles last year. With another off-season under his belt Romo should do a better job of securing the ball. Romo is a playmaker and if the pocket breaks he is very dangerous. Marion Barber is a punishing back that averages 4.8 yards per carry and in the 4th quarter secures wins with his clutch running late. Felix Jones replaces Julius Jones and gives Dallas a big play threat. Terrell Owens leads the wide receiving corps but tight end Jason Witten seems to be Romo's favorite target as he had 96 receptions last season. Miles Austin is a kickoff return guy but 2008 could be his breakout year at wide receiver for the Cowboys. The young receiver had a good offseason. Patrick Crayton will be the other starter for the Cowboys and is coming off his career best numbers in passing yards, catches and TD's for the Cowboys in 2007. Veteran Terry Glen is under a contract dispute with the club and missed most of last season with an injury.

Defense:

The Cowboys picked up the much-troubled Adam "Pacman" Jones in the offseason at cornerback and drafted 2 players in the secondary during the draft. Starters Terrance Newman and Anthony Henry are solid corner men. This secondary has gotten even better in 2008. The Cowboys totaled 46 sacks last season but teams converted nearly 40% on third downs last season against the defense. Tank Johnson helps plug the middle but Marcus Spears needs to develop as he had just 30 tackles and 2 sacks last season. DeMarcus Ware leads the linebacker core and registered 14 sacks last season. Greg Ellis contributed with 12 ½ quarterback sacks. Zach Thomas was brought in during the off season to add depth in the position.

And now to my Selection:

Despite the cries for depth at the wide receiver position Tony Romo still has weapons to throw too. The key for the Cowboys is to develop a #3 and Miles Austin could be there guy. The Cowboys do a good job of stopping the run and there outside linebackers pressure the QB. The secondary was upgraded as well. The Giants have lost Michael Strahan and Kawika Mitchell from their Super Bowl defense and the Redskins are breaking in a new coach. The Cowboys should have success again against the division during the regular season helping the cause for the over. They should go at least 3-1 against the NFC West this season and catch a break hosting Seattle. So a 7-3 record against the NFC East and West means we need 4 more wins to get the money. They will get it.

Play Dallas Cowboys over 10 ½ wins for the 2008 season.

Selection: Play Dallas Cowboys over 10 ½ wins in 2008 Regular Season.

  • dallas is a joke. done.

  • damn good prediction

  • hello

  • how do you like Romo against PHilly's D now? Romo is this year's Eli Manning. SB win probably ahead. Romo= hands down a top 5 qb. He's doing better than Peyton Manning as of today in the 2008 season

  • excellent vid dude. YOu will have all the ladies wanting to have Tony T's baby with picks like that. Dallas at 10 1/2 wins is a joke. Vegas just gave that away. Without T.O. Dallas can get to 10. When Dallas had Quincy "weedhead" carter they got 10 wins, and went 9-7 with Drew "the statue" Bledsoe. With Romo and Whitten and Crayton 13-3 again wouldnt' be out of the question. I had Dallas at 11-5, but now they look more like 12-4. I'm not 100% sure if Dallas can win it all though.
