Hard to watch this without crying. Danny was such a talent, and his suicide was a tragic waste. Thanks for preserving and posting these priceless lessons. Sad as it is, you can't help but laugh when he says "That is the simplest way to play guitar - believe me - no one is lazier than I am!"

really getting into my country playing (travis, banjo rolls etc) and I feel like an absolute beginner again. This stuff is fucking hard man! Then you get Gatton just rolling this stuff off like it's nothing. What a loss to the guitar world. Great player.

@s1914 Sometimes I think the final straw for Danny was when grunge went crazy and took over the music scene. He was probably extra depressed that people who could play a few chords could gain such admiration. Meanwhile, a true virtuoso like himself could hardly even get on the radar. The real players and session people and those in the know gave Danny the highest possible marks; they knew his dedication and skill was way beyond what most can hope to achieve. But depression is a painful foe. Sad.
