During the recent launch of the Education for All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report for Asia and the Pacific at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand on 25 June 2010, participants expressed their concerns about Education for All (EFA) goals and education issues in Thailand, summarized in a video recording.
EFA was first launched in Jomtien, Thailand in March 1990. EFA has six goals pertaining to early childhood care and education, universal primary education, life skills and lifelong learning, literacy, gender equality in education, and quality education. The commitment to provide quality education for all children, youth and adults was later renewed at the World Education Forum in Dakar, Senegal in April 2000.
Every year, UNESCO Bangkok organizes the launch of the EFA Global Monitoring Report for Asia and the Pacific in Thailand. This year, for the first time, the launch was held in a university to attract greater interest for the report from academia.
