to those complaining that this is not funk, you are correct, this is not funk. it is not meant to be funk. it never was funk. it is an old ballad that predates funk. it is done in the soul style here. and done quite well, although in abbreviated fashion here. in his normal live shows this song could easily go on for ten minutes. t'was a sight to see and experience.

James Brown was a good singer. He is from my state of Georgia. Funk music was the music in that day.
