The fellow is "swallowing" his tones which are placed too far back in his throat. He should find a teacher who knows what to do or better, just listen to STRACCIARI

I don't like her singing and hair style.

OK - you have to consider the rules and guidelines for the competition. The singers are told to wear something appropriate for the songs they are singing. Kate's 1st song was that of a man - hence the strong collar. The final song "Im Treibhaus" was about a glass house/conservatory - i.e. plant life - hence the green.

I didn't like the dress' style. It was just... too angular, I guess?

I think if the dress was a different color, it would have looked lovely. Perhaps a shade of blue instead of green.
