@rafaelmoros1960 Unfortunately, we, as Latin-americans, have to look for any way to learn watch-repairing by ourselves. I'm still learning it, but I dream to be spend time with an older watchmaker and become an expert. I'd sincerely like we be in touch.
Kind of a double standard (typical Quebec) . If there was only one welding school in Canada and they only enrolled english speaking students , there would be a national referendum with French people screaming discrimination. Instead of keeping money in our own Country, English students have to spend their money in another country to learn this trade.
Here in Venezuela , we have not watchmaking schoools , we learn from an older watchmaker, i was working for 2 years with an old watchmaker and now i am an independent watchmaker.
There is a watchmaking school in Trois-Riviers in Canada but it's only French speaking. To my knowledge there is no English speaking schools in Canada. In the staes though there are a few.
so would it be true to say that the art of watchmaking resides mostly in Europe?

The only other school in Canada to even have a watchmaking course had to close the program due to lack of applications, so no.
