I wanted to figure a few things out on this machine. I couldn't find the info any where else. I hope my video can help you out too! I now will hunt in jewelry mode ONLY as it seem to be the best of both worlds!

  • its because the new pennies are made out of zinc the wheats are made out of pure cooper.

  • Right BUT.... did you hear the 41 wheat vs. the 42 wheat... The 41 sounds like a zinc penny... the 42 sounds copperish (beltone)... ????

  • wheaties were made out of different combos of brass, copper, and bronze.LOL and they will give a different response. 44-46 will come just like a dime solid 79

  • Hmmm LOL, never thought of that.... I made a 22 minute video JUST because of them..... hahahah

  • You're never boring and you take the time to do the research. I for one appreciate that. BTW, I really like your Garrett 2500.

    KD SD !!

  • Thanks for always watching. I like it too. I think I need to hunt in jewelry mode ALWAYS in order to be able to uncover all desirable metals.. Wonder how many gold rings I walked oover in coin mode.... GAWD, now I have to go BACK to all those spots... LMAO!!! HH to you as always!

  • Thanks for the good advice Lady! i own a gti 2500 also and used your tips to learn to listen for the right sounds. I helped my brother find his wedding ring he lost 7 yrs ago. In jewelry mode i found it 4" deep just like the 2500 said. Cuss on baby you rock!

  • @ryannlag With regard to the small gold items, have you tried the detector in "All Metal" mode using the larger 12.5" coil?

  • Just thought you should know the lower tone on the 1941 wheat as well as the 1860 canadian cent is caused by a thin film of copper oxide over the copper cents. Try a cleaner 1941 cent if you have one. During WW2, through 1942-44 some cents were made with spent shell casings, but you wont see the difference detecting. My advice... If its a deep coin and low tone dig it. Good Luck!

  • this video should be called 41 42 flat edge
