J. Bonner Ritchie -- retired BYU professor and active LDS church member -- discusses why he feels a place like Sunstone is critical to the health of both the LDS church, and its members.
Now, the time it would take to achieve this 'reversal?' That again would more than likely 'depend' on quite a few 'variables' as well, although in an 'instant' is obviously possible with God. I'll leave it there.
The resultant effect of us seeking to 'protect' ourselves has also created this 'more masculine' or 'more feminine' mind. One could say, a two-edged sword, and all the while, we never knew we were creating either. Fear and/or determination lock these levels in, so, how to undo? A reversal would be complicated and tricky, but not impossible for God.
Now as one becomes older, there are more 'situations' that need 'handling' better and the creating a 'level' process begins again. Some 'levels' will be 'male' and others can be 'female'. These subconsious choices to 'protect' ourselves have an effect on our mind and more and more we become more masculine or feminine 'minded' and because 'opposites' attract, the 'outcome/result' is what we call on earth: 'gay'.
As a child say, you ask yourself questions. Does that person 'qualify' to help you 'resolve' this 'problem?' - and, why? Once you choose, some how, because we're clever, our mind creates what I call a 'level'. It is like a glove. We 'put it on'. It is the 'solution' to the particular 'problem' we just 'had'. We become 'stronger'.
factors involved would, in the least, be: the individual's character, personality, and 'situation' 'where' the 'problem' or 'event' occurred. The variables. One looks at say, other people. Those who are around you, or those whom you've seen. It could be a cartoon character, a person you've met, an aunty, an uncle, a brother or someone from a movie. These are, what one could call: options.
I believe the 'change,' in response to one's previous subconscious decided solution, happens while one is sleeping/asleep, but it may also possibly happen when one is awake. Some are 'faster' at this process than others and there would be so many factors involved with this process and the outcome -
as 'effectively' as we would like to. At this point, we start to make certain decisions. Subconsciously, we go through possible 'solutions'. Depending on the situation and what solution it calls for, we either search for something to 'protect' us, or for something to make us more 'strong/brave.'
This is something I haven't spoken publicly about but I'll see what happens when I make an exception. Through my dreams I have seen what makes a person 'gay' - the earth term. To describe it in a very simple way, when we are very young, and it could happen at any young age, we come across a situation that we can't say 'handle' that well, or we are afraid of what to do, or we don't feel 'protected' or we realise that we're not dealing with something or someone -
I am all for open discussion of supposedly "hot button" topics in relation to the church, but in all honesty many of the articles in the sunstone articles seem whiney and illogical rants of people that feel as if the church is "out to get them."

John,
Your intro credit TAKE TOO LONG.
Stop it with the fade in fade out... this is not a mid 90's Ken Burns PBS special.
